1. Emmanuel Adebayor: If you thought Tevez was a bit animated last night after his first goal, you've clearly been away for a while (Isolation cell, was it?).

Earlier this season, former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor faced the Gunners with Man City at Eastlands and was subjected to a barrage of abuse from the away end after leaving the Londoners in acrimonious circumstances. After first raking his studs down the side of Robin van Persie's face, he then put the seal on a City victory - and his own sullied reputation - by sprinting from one end of the pitch to celebrate in front of the away fans. Cue pandemonium, with all manner of hardware and software thrown at him by enraged Arsenal fans

2. Dennis Law:  The Scot certainly came back to haunt United - though unlike Adebayor, he didn't take much pleasure in doing so. United legend Law was seeing out his career at City when the two sides came face to face at the end of the 1973/74 season. After scoring an outrageous back-heeled goal, Law thought he had relegated his former club and refused to celebrate. United were heading to Division Two anyway, but it's something that's always haunted the Scot.

3. Richard Dunne – This time Man City were on the receiving end after foolishly jettisoning Ireland's Richard Dunne because, "he didn't shift jerseys in Malaysia". This after being City's player of the year for four consecutive seasons prior to his loss of form last time around. He was flogged to Aston Villa in the summer to make way for the expensive yet incompatible duo of Kolo Toure and Joleon Lescott but, when the two sides met earlier this season, Dunne bulleted a header past Shay Given to earn his side a 1-1 draw at Villa Park. He refused to celebrate; because, like his Murphy’s, he’s not bitter.

AND TWO OTHERS...

Nicolas Anelka: The French man has had so many former clubs, he's bound to aggravate one of them at some stage. Not that clubs ever wanted to get rid of Le Sulk – his brothers usually engineered the move. Anelka came back to haunt Arsenal with Bolton and Man City, he netted against Liverpool with City, for Chelsea against Liverpool, for Chelsea against City…

Any chance Chelsea might face Real Madrid in the Champions League for the Box Set?

Wayne Rooney: Everton fans' heartbreak at the departure of the Golden Child quickly evaporated when he returned to Goodison as a Man Utd striker and immediately capitalised on Joseph Yobo’s mistake to score. Two seasons ago he did it again as United turned a 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 victory - and Rooney sprinted to the touchline kissing his United crest.

Class.
